Alba ad Astra
Alba ad Astra is an ongoing project celebrating Scotland's industrial and technological past and speculating about our potential as explorers of outer space. During lockdown many of our team uncovered new material relating to a potential Scottish space programme, which has been collected in a revised volume of writings and photography.
The new Alba ad Astra is now available to order on the Shoreline of Infinity website. This expanded edition collects work by Ken MacLeod, Andrew J Wilson, Gavin Inglis, Kirsti Wishart, Andrew C Ferguson, Fergus Currie and myself with a new foreword by Pippa Goldschmidt. It is published by Shoreline of Infinity and sponsored by Transreal Fiction.
The first exhibition, of photographs and artifacts, took place in Transreal Fiction during August 2009. The some of those photographs are presented here. Each plate is accompanied by Andrew J. Wilson's research notes, extracted from the 2009 booklet.
