Plate No 7

Aeronautical fragment held at the National Museum of Flight. This matches an illustrated description published in a 1937 Rocketry Scotland newsletter of a homemade manifold that was used by amateur enthusiasts during trials in the Campsie Fells. The outbreak of war saw the end of such attempts to emulate Robert Goddard, but many of those who sacrificed so much of their spare time and disposable income would find themselves called up to serve their country by working on the military applications of their hobby.
